LiteLog vs. COREDINATE – the comparison for security services (2026)
Specialised guard tour system or operations platform for several industries? We compare COREDINATE and LiteLog where it matters on site: checkpoints, guard tours, offline operation, logbook, time tracking, shift planning, client access and integrations.
This article is published by LiteLog. All statements about COREDINATE are based on publicly available information and the vendor's own descriptions (as of September 2026). Sources are listed at the end of the page. Details may change; the vendor's own statements are authoritative.
Summary: COREDINATE vs. LiteLog
COREDINATE is an online guard tour system from Uffenheim, Germany, focused on the security industry since 2014 and, according to the vendor, used by more than 1,300 customers. Its core is checkpoint scanning via NFC, beacon and GPS, an automatic logbook, key management, a man-down alarm and a free client portal. Shift planning and forms are available as add-on modules.
LiteLog is an operations and proof-of-service platform for security, cleaning, caretaker and care service providers. Guard tours with checkpoints via NFC, QR, beacon and GPS, time tracking and shift planning in every plan, incident reports, forms, materials, automation with freely combinable rules and a client portal with seven modules. The app works fully offline, including starting a guard tour.
In short: COREDINATE is the mature choice for pure security companies looking for an established guard tour system with a large customer base, key seals and a man-down alarm. For companies that run several services in the same account, must start guard tours without network coverage and want shift planning, automation and client access without add-on modules, LiteLog is the better foundation.
When is a guard tour system enough, and when do you need the whole operations platform?
A guard tour system answers one question very well: was the employee at the right checkpoint at the right time? As soon as a company also offers cleaning, caretaking or reception, further questions follow: who is scheduled where today, which materials were used, which incident became a task, and what does the client see of all this?
COREDINATE is built as a guard tour system and has developed that role for over ten years. LiteLog is built as an operations platform in which the guard tour system is one part among many. This comparison shows where both do the same, where COREDINATE goes deeper and where LiteLog is broader.
Guard tour system vs. operations platform
Both vendors address security and facility service providers. COREDINATE describes itself as an "online guard tour system" and as an "all-in-one platform for logbook, shift planning, time tracking, guard tour control and man-down alarm". LiteLog describes itself as a platform for proof of deployment and service, in which guard tours, time tracking, tasks, incidents, materials and client access share the same data.
COREDINATE
- Checkpoints via NFC, Bluetooth beacon and GPS, combinable within the same site
- Automatic logbook, immutable after upload, reports sent to clients automatically
- Key management with NFC seals, man-down alarm without a dedicated device
- Shift planning, forms and file manager as add-on modules
LiteLog
- Checkpoints via NFC, QR, beacon and GPS; guard tours fully offline
- Time tracking, shift planning and deployment planning included in every plan
- Automation with 50 triggers and 10 actions, client portal with seven modules
- Security, cleaning, caretaker services and care in the same account
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Self-description | "Online guard tour system (OWKS)", for the security industry since 2014 | Operations and proof-of-service platform for security, cleaning, caretaker services and care |
| Target industries per vendor | Security services, plant security, event security, facility management, cleaning services, hospitality | Security, facility, cleaning, caretaker services, care, education, hospitality |
| Reach | According to the vendor, more than 1,300 customers and more than 348,000 checkpoint scans per day (as of July 2026) | Focus on the DACH region, considerably smaller customer base |
In reach and experience in the security trade, COREDINATE is clearly ahead. Anyone who runs guarding and site security exclusively gets a system there that has grown for exactly that. LiteLog plays to its breadth as soon as the company delivers more than one service.
How do you prove that someone was at the checkpoint?
Proof at the checkpoint is the core of both systems. The differences lie in the capture methods and in whether the company can keep using existing checkpoints.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Capture methods | NFC tags, Bluetooth beacons and GPS checkpoints; all three combinable within the same tour | NFC tag, QR code, Bluetooth beacon and GPS checkpoint with radius; combinable |
| QR code | Rated "limited" on the feature page and not offered as a capture method | Included as a checkpoint type; every checkpoint additionally carries a QR code as a fallback |
| GPS checkpoint | Radius usually 20 to 50 m; since release 9.25 also geofence as a dedicated checkpoint type with entry and exit | Radius per checkpoint, booked automatically on entry during an active tour; geofence per site for check-in |
| Beacon | Range roughly 1 to 10 m, battery change every 1 to 2 years | Books automatically on approach, without holding the device to the checkpoint |
| Fallback proof | Substitute scans must be enabled deliberately per tour (default off); not shown separately in reports | A scan outside an active tour is stored as proof with a reason and flagged in the log |
| Hardware | NFC tags and beacons from the vendor; Crosscall outdoor smartphones as partner hardware, loan device during the trial | Off-the-shelf NFC tags, no hardware management; any NFC-capable smartphone |
Both systems prove presence at the checkpoint via NFC, beacon and GPS. COREDINATE deliberately does not offer QR codes as a capture method, LiteLog does. Anyone who wants to reuse existing QR checkpoints will find that only in LiteLog.
Target, actual, time window and missed tours
A guard tour only becomes proof when it is held against a target: which checkpoints were due, in which time window, in which order, and what happens when the tour does not take place?
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduling | Rhythms from one-off to yearly, lead and follow-up time, exception days, appointment lists for public holidays | Template with time window and recurrence, public holidays and special days, version history of the route |
| Order | Per checkpoint "mandatory" or free; extended order behaviour | Order by drag and drop; areas per site (floor, zone) |
| Minimum and maximum duration | Configurable per tour; completion blocked before minimum duration, "walk faster" hint in the app | Not included; minimum duration exists per shift in time tracking, not per tour |
| Random principle | Not documented; the vendor recommends varying the order manually | Not included |
| Missed tour | Status "expired" in the portal, notification rule by e-mail or Google Sheet; SMS module since release 9.29 | Automation triggers "tour missed" and "checkpoint missed" with e-mail, push, SMS or call; default rule pre-configured |
| Free tours | Not documented as a dedicated function | Spontaneous tours without template, logged as actual |
| Several sites | Several sites per shift with their own checkpoints, one device per patrol driver | Routes with stops, arrival, tolerance, stop log and sign-off by supervision |
| Evaluation | Tour completion filterable, change history for tours since release 9.31 | Coverage report per site and day, logs with map and timeline, change log with mandatory reason |
- In basements, underground car parks and halls without network, no planned tour can be started.
- The employee scans checkpoints, but the log carries no tour and no time window.
- Beacon and GPS checkpoints drop out entirely offline.
- Planned and free tours start, run and close without a connection.
- All checkpoint types book offline; the data synchronises automatically once connected.
- Time windows and missed-tour detection apply after synchronisation.
The minimum and maximum duration per tour is a genuine advantage of COREDINATE that LiteLog does not have. Offline it is the other way round: COREDINATE documents that offline only NFC scans are possible and that neither tours can be started nor tasks or incidents recorded. LiteLog runs completely offline.
What the app can do without network
Site security often takes place where there is no network. The question is not whether an app works offline, but which functions still work then.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Offline scope | "exclusively NFC checkpoint scans" and time tracking; tours, GPS checkpoints, beacons, tasks and incidents not, according to the help centre | Tours, all checkpoint types, tasks, incidents, forms and time tracking; starting a multi-site route needs network once to preload |
| Platforms | Android from version 5 with NFC, iOS from 15.6, iPad; lone worker protection not on iPhone | iOS and Android, web portal |
| Own devices | Billing per active device; access cards for switching devices between employees | Seats per person, sign-in on the employee's own device |
| App languages | German, English, French, Polish per App Store listing; further languages via community suggestion | 14 languages, switchable per person in the profile |
| Internal communication | Announcements with read confirmation and timestamp, optionally with signature; time-controlled | Team chat per site, in-app messages from automation |
In languages and offline scope, LiteLog is broader. Announcements with read confirmation by signature are a function LiteLog does not have in this form.
From event to tamper-proof entry
In the security trade the logbook is the document that counts in a dispute. What matters is what flows in automatically and whether entries can be changed afterwards.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic entries | Eight data types: checkpoint scans, events, tasks, key handovers, shift times, form data, alarms, geofence entries and exits | Tour logs, scans, incidents, forms, tasks, times and signatures in the digital logbook per site |
| Immutability | No entry changeable after upload, not even by admins; audit trail | Documentation according to ALCOA+: originals remain, corrections create new entries with mandatory reason; dedicated audit trail as an add-on |
| Events | Photo, dictation with automatic transcription, categorisation; origin of the image (camera or gallery) flagged | Photo, voice memo with transcription and AI classification by category and severity (opt-in), location binding |
| Forms | Paper checklists reproduced 1:1, field types from text to photo, mandatory fields, signature; as an add-on module | Form templates blank, from AI description, from PDF or Excel; signature field; in every plan with a quota |
| Dispatch | Logbook reports and PDF reports automatically daily, weekly or monthly to clients | Report templates from building blocks, dispatch subscriptions per site, PDF and CSV export |
Both systems keep an automatic, tamper-proof logbook with automatic dispatch. COREDINATE integrates key handovers and alarms directly, LiteLog brings AI classification of incidents and form import from PDF or Excel.
Recording attendance and planning deployments
In the security trade the client pays for hours, customs inspect, and the collective agreement demands evidence. Time tracking and shift planning are therefore not a side issue.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Capture methods | Automatically at the first and last scan of a checkpoint or geofence; manually via clock in/out; time clock mode | NFC, QR code, GPS with geofence, manual, kiosk tablet, Telegram and WhatsApp |
| Plan vs. actual | Automatic comparison with stored target shifts; overtime beyond eight hours flagged; plausibility check | Plan and difference columns per entry; confirmation of completed entries with audit; minimum duration and minimum interval per shift with alarm |
| Shift planning | Add-on module, cancellable monthly, usable without the COREDINATE guard tour system; leave, sickness, qualifications | Included in every plan; roster matrix with demand per site and day, series, templates, Excel import; staffing suggestion from the Standard plan |
| Missing shift start | Automatic e-mail to stored recipients | Automation triggers for missing check-in and check-out with e-mail, push, SMS or call |
| Payroll export | CSV and PDF, compatible with DATEV, Lexware, Sage; open format | CSV export; no payroll |
The difference lies less in the function than in the package: with COREDINATE, shift planning is an add-on module, with LiteLog it is part of every plan. COREDINATE's payroll export names concrete target systems, LiteLog exports CSV without a named payroll integration.
Key handovers and man-down alarm
Two functions that are standard in the security trade and often missing in general operations platforms. This is home turf for COREDINATE.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Key handover | NFC key seals on the bunch, one scan documents takeover and return; alternatively manual entry; visible in the client portal | Keys as single items in the materials module, handover by scan with signature, return alarm via automation; no seals |
| Man-down alarm | Emergency button on Crosscall devices, automatic voice connection to the stored number, alarm tone, last GPS position on the map; not on iPhone | Welfare check with time window, escalation by push, SMS and call via automation; lone worker protection add-on, included in Premium |
| GPS tracking | Only during the shift, can be disabled per employee, tracks stored for 6 months, live map | Live position of devices on the map; no GPS history |
NFC key seals, the hardware emergency button and the six-month GPS history are functions LiteLog does not offer. Anyone who manages keys in large numbers or has to prove lone work with route evidence is more deeply equipped with COREDINATE.
From event to action
A scan, an incident or a missing shift start is only worth something if it becomes a notification, a task or an escalation without anyone having to act.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Rules | Notification rules with triggers such as tour status, task status, event type, form completed, shift start, alarm; action e-mail or Google Sheet, SMS module | Automation with 50 triggers, conditions and 10 actions: e-mail, push, in-app, SMS, call, create and assign task, change status; delay and escalation chain |
| Tasks | Bound to checkpoints, appear on scan, reason required if not completed, time filter by weekday and hour, tags, teams | Tasks with checklist, photo, series and recurrence rules; tasks attached to a checkpoint appear on scan |
| Cases / tickets | Ticket system with cases, processes as templates and board view; price on request | Incidents with category and severity, ticket QR per site without login, client tickets as tasks |
| Templates | Not documented | 41 prepared rules in every account, 14 rule templates, rule draft by AI |
COREDINATE binds tasks closely to the checkpoint and reports deviations by e-mail. LiteLog runs an automation that creates and assigns tasks from any event and escalates over several channels.
Proof to the outside
The client wants to see what happened without calling. Both systems have their own portal for that; the differences lie in the scope.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Free and unlimited; releasable per client and site: scans, events with photos, GPS tracks, logbook, shift and area times, PDF reports | Client portal with own login and seven individually enabled modules: guard tours, incidents, tickets, materials, reports & forms, client orders, attendance proof |
| Real time | Scans and events immediately in the client portal; live map with GPS tracking | Tours and incidents visible immediately; attendance proof per visit with target/actual verdict, employees pseudonymised |
| Return channel | Not documented | Client tickets arrive as tasks; ticket QR poster without login |
| Keys | The client sees which employee holds which key | Materials module can be enabled in the client portal |
Both client portals show tours and events in real time and can be configured per site. COREDINATE additionally releases GPS tracks and key status, LiteLog the attendance proof with target/actual verdict and a return channel for client tickets.
Hosting, availability, API
In tenders, server location, availability, certificates and the connection to payroll, ERP and control centre count.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Hosting | Server location Germany (Frankfurt), geo-redundant | Server location Germany (Frankfurt), EU cloud infrastructure |
| Availability | "historical availability in the high 99 per cent range", at most 10 minutes of data loss in a disaster | 99.9% planned availability with automated backups and monitoring |
| Data protection | Data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR, two-factor authentication, external data protection officer, GPS tracks deleted after 6 months | GDPR-compliant with retention and deletion concepts; AI processing bound to the EU, opt-in per tenant; two-factor sign-in with an authenticator app in every plan, optionally as a company rule for all accounts |
| Certificates | ISO 9001 (TÜV-audited), "Software Made in Germany" seal, BVMS member since 2015 | No certification stated; documentation according to ALCOA+ |
| Integrations | CSV export for DATEV, Lexware, Sage; "open JSON interfaces" without public documentation; SSO as a paid module | Public REST API v1 from the Standard plan with documentation (sites, tasks, incidents, form responses); no webhooks, no OAuth2; sign-in with Microsoft (single sign-on) included in every plan |
| Tenants | Tenant, branch, client, area; subcontractors with their own login | One account = one company; subcontractors with their own access from the Standard plan; no multi-company management |
COREDINATE states an ISO 9001 certification and a tenant structure that LiteLog does not have. LiteLog in turn offers a documented REST API that can be used without prior agreement, and includes sign-in with Microsoft and two-factor sign-in in every plan, where COREDINATE charges sign-in via the company directory as an add-on module.
How does the system get into the business?
We deliberately do not quote prices here; both vendors publish pricing pages. Compared are the trial path, licence basis and term.
| COREDINATE | LiteLog | |
|---|---|---|
| Trying it out | 14 days without credit card; free trial kit with five NFC tags by post, loan device on request | 14 days with the full Premium scope, self-service start without an appointment; NFC tags from retail |
| Onboarding | According to the vendor around 30 minutes per site, training as online session included | Setup assistant per site, manual in 14 languages, demo on request |
| Licence basis | Per active device and month; portal and client access free; shift planning, forms, file manager, SSO and ticket system as add-on modules | Plan plus seats per person; shift planning, forms, client portal, sign-in with Microsoft and two-factor sign-in in the plan; API access does not occupy a seat |
| Term | Two tariffs with identical functions: two-year term or cancellable monthly | Monthly or annually, self-service checkout |
| Support | Phone, e-mail and portal chatbot; Monday to Friday 8 to 12 and 13 to 17; help centre around the clock | E-mail and portal, response within two hours on working days; manual around the clock |

Which software fits your business?
COREDINATE
COREDINATE is the most mature guard tour system on the German market: more than ten years of focus on the security industry, more than 1,300 customers, ISO 9001, NFC key seals, a man-down alarm with hardware button, minimum and maximum duration per tour and a free client portal with live map. Anyone who runs guarding and site security exclusively and wants an established system with a trial kit by post is in good hands there.
For operation outside network coverage and outside the security industry you will often need additions: tours cannot be started offline, shift planning and forms are add-on modules, materials exist only as a form, and the app speaks four languages.
LiteLog
LiteLog is the platform for companies that deliver more than one service: guard tours with NFC, QR, beacon and GPS that run fully offline, time tracking and shift planning in every plan, automation with task creation and escalation by call, materials with stock journal, a client portal with seven modules and 14 languages. Proof is created as a by-product because the work happens in the system.
Its limits compared with COREDINATE lie in the security specialism: no key seals, no hardware emergency button, no GPS history, no minimum and maximum duration per tour, no certification and a considerably smaller customer base.
